Interrupted feeding of blood-sucking insects: causes and effects

Abstract:The interruption of feeding of an arthropod vector can have important consequences for the transmission of blood parasites. In this article, Clive Davies explains the causes of feeding interruptions and how they are estimated, so as to assess the consequences to the fitness of a vector and the transmission success of its parasites.
