| Abstract: | Exogenously supplied ribose and deoxyribose in a medium containingsucrose+ IAA considerably enhanced the formation of roots onhypocotyl cuttings of Phaseolus mungo with intact apex andleaves.The effect increased with increasing concentration of pentosesugars and was more pronounced with deoxyribose than with ribosesugar.
