Abstract: | A glucocerebroside from yeast forms of the pathogenic fungus Sporothrix schenckii has been isolated and its components characterized by thin-layer and gas-liquid chromatography and by mass spectrometry. The purified molecule contained glucose, sphingosine and α-hydroxy stearic acid (1:1:1) and it seemed homogenous since no other fatty acid was detected. |
