Abstract: | The charging and discharging currents were investigated in a synthetic melanin sample. The presence of long-lasting dielectric relaxation was established. The steady state was reached after a long time, from 103 to 105 s, which depends both on temperature and voltage. The temperature dependence of polarization was of an activation character (Eα = 0.67 eV). The kind of electrode material did not influence the current curves. |
