| Abstract: | A sterile sea water circulating system for the jar culture of developing fish eggs is described. An ultra–violet filter unit is used to sterilise the water and the system is one of a double-circulation the advantages of which are discussed. This is an effective method for maintaining the developing embryos of Blennius pholis L. under controlled conditions, and would be applicable to studies on other demersal fish species or marine organisms. |
