Abstract: | Histology and ultrastructure of sebaceous glands of the integumental inguinal gland of the hare were studied during the periods of low and high reproductive activity (in winter and in spring breeding season). It was established that the glands were functioning continually (cells in acini of all the animals used contained numerous secretory granules). The expansion of agranular endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi complex in secretory cells of sexually active animals, especially of males, shows an increased intensity of gland secretory process during the breeding season. |
