| Abstract: | The current research literature on the mechanisms responsible for maintenance of the genomic stability and their role in cell senescence both in vivo and in vitro is reviewed. Various types of age-dependent genomic destabilization in senescent cells are considered. Genetic instability of senescent cells is assumed to be associated with the life span and aging of an entire organism. |
