Abstract: | - 1.1. Figures are presented to show the intensities of experimental infection with developmental stages of Dirofilaria immitis in females of different species of mosquitoes.
- 2.2. With the degree of microfilaremia in the vertebrate host used, mosquito host species with less than 50% infection rates had few individuals harboring more than about 5 or 6 developing D. immitis, whereas mosquito species with infection rates approaching 100% had many individuals harboring from 10 to 30 or more larval filariae.
