Abstract:Sodium hyaluronate samples of various molecular weights were prepared and characterized by size exclusion chromatography and dilution viscometry. Densitometry was used for determination of the densities of sodium hyaluronate solutions and the results expressed as partial specific volumes in the respective solvents. Solution adiabatic compressibilities were measured. Hydration parameters of sodium hyaluronate were consequently determined and the values obtained discussed in relation to existing hydration models for sodium hyaluronate in water.
Keywords:Hydration   hyaluronate   adiabatic compressibility   densitometry
