REGULATORY ROLE OF CORTICOTROPIN RELEASING HORMONE ONREPRODUCTIVE FUNCTION

The Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing 100080,China) In the past ten years, investigations on the corticotropin releasing hormone (CRH) regulating reproductive function have internationally become one of the most active fields in reproductive biology. However, in our country, the researches in this field are still at the beginning stage. The recent progresses, including the authors' preliminary research results were reviewed. A number of evidences concerning CRH regulating reproductive function at the levels of hypothalamus, pituitary and gonad were presented. The authors suggested that, from now on, it should not be ignored to clarify the peripheral mechanism by which CRH regulates reproductive function.
