| Abstract: | The effect of ribosome-inactivating proteins (RIPs), eithersingle-chain or toxins, was studied on plant ribosomes. RIPsdid not affect ribosomes from their own plants, while inhibitingto a variable extent protein synthesis by heterologous plantribosomes.
