| Abstract: | Galactofuranose has been characterized in glycoinositolphospholipid(GIPL) anchor-like structures having a glycerolipid or a ceramide,as in lipopeptidophosphoglycan (LPPG) of Trypanosoma cruzi,in the oligosaccharide core of lipophosphoglycan (LPG) of Leishmaniaspecies, and also modifying high-mannose chains of trypanosomatidglycoproteins.
