云南禄丰古猿地点Ursinae indet.化石性质的再讨论

1984年和1985年本文后一作者曾将禄丰古猿化石地点的一种小型而冠面无强烈褶皱的熊类化石归人Ursinae indet.现经重新研究,认为它应属Ursavus。鉴于它和Utsavus已知其他种的区别,订一新种U.sylvestris。它与欧洲的U.ehrenbetgi大体处在同一进化水平上。在原认为是Ursinae indet.的材料中,有两枚M_1,其特点与U.sylvestris者不同,暂以Ursavus sp.记之。

RESTUDY OF MAMMALIAN FOSSILS REFERRED TO URSINAE INDET. FROM LUFENGPITHECUS LOCALITY

One of the authors of this paper (Qi) described fifteen teeth under the name of Ursinaeindet. in 1984. Among these eeth, V. 6894.8 consisting of left Ps, P4 and Ml was consideredas the same individual, while the rest were treated as isolated eeth. In 1985, Qi also addedanother three isolated teeth to the assemblage and pointed out that except the large Indarctor,the smaller Ursidae fossils from Lzzfengpizlzeczrs locality fall into two groups: one withstrongly wrinkled rown surface was referred to Ur.cavas depereti. Another with smooth crownsurface could not be precisely defined systematically nd was temporarily assigned as Ursinaeindet. Reexamination of the two small forms mentioned above has convinced the uthors f thepresent paper that the first small form is an ancestral farm of fliluropoda, for which a newgenus and species, lilzerarczos lufengensis, was given (Qiu and Qi, 1989) and second one isnothing but a true Ursavtzs. It is distinct from all he previously known species of Ursavzts.The name U. sylvestris is given to it. Of the materials described in 1985, the two M, V. 6894.14 and 15) evidently differ from that of U. sylvesfris in shape and are referred to Ursavzss sp.
