Effect of furosemide and ethacrynic acid on sodium transport and potassium secretion]

Ethacrinic acid (0.5 mg/ml), similarly to strophanthin K, increased sodium content and decreased potassium content in the tissue of the frog urinary bladder. Furocemide (0.1 mg/ml) failed to change the ionic content of this tissue. These data indicated a difference in the intracellular action of furosemide and ethacrynic acid.
