| Abstract: | A hidden Markov model (HMM) approach was used to identify potential candidates in sequence databases for fibronectin type
III domains in plants, a kingdom heretofore bereft of these structures. Fortuitously, one of the proteins uncovered had already
had a crystal structure published, allowing direct structural confirmation of the existence of this domain in plants.
