Abstract: | tRNA samples may be adsorbed quantitatively to DEAE-cellulose from 2m ammonium sulfate solution, pH 4.5. Washing with 0.3 m NaCl removes the ammonium sulfate and the tRNA is recovered in ethanol-precipitable form by elution with 1.1 m NaCl. The procedure allows convenient and efficient recovery of tRNAs from larger volumes of aqueous salt solutions. A moderate concentration of sodium chloride does not interfere with adsorption. |
