Abstract: | The effects of gibberellin A3 (GA3) application on five white clover populations was assessed in both glasshouse and controlled environments. Daylength, temperature and GA3 interactions were also examined. Gibberellin A3 did not induce vegetative plants to flower when daylength and temperature requirements were not met. In flowering plants, GA3 increased the number of reproductive buds per stolon and peduncle length, but did not affect other floral characters. Gibberellin A3 depressed total stolon numbers, but increased the number of nodes per stolon, internode length, leaf area and petiole length. |
