The identification of transport parameters from truncated physiological tracer curves

Abstract:The primary data curves from the injection of tracers into the circulation are often obscured by the appearance of a recirculation hump. Previous techniques for parameter identification in the presence of such a complication have been extended from compartmental models to include circulatory models consisting of partial differential equations of the Taylor dispersion and Turner capacitance types. A comparative analysis of the efficiency of parameter identification by several computational strategies is presented.
