| Abstract: | Verotoxin (VT) production was investigated in 11 human isolates of Escherichia coli O113:H21. Only 6 strains were found to produce VT and none produced classic heat-labile (LT) and/or heat-stable (ST) enterotoxins. Neutralization studies demonstrated antigenic heterogeneity of VT produced by these strains of E. coli O113. |
