AN ALTERNATIVE PLOTTING METHOD USING PROGRESS CURVES OF ENZYME REACTION TO DETERMINE KINETIC PARAMETERS |

Abstract: | A plotting method has been developed to determine kinetic parmeters by using progress curves of enzyme reaction. The method has two are antages: 1. All kinetic constants, Km, Vmax , Kp and Kp, can be obtained in only two experiments; 2. All plots are linear which may provide a more reliable estimation for the reaction mechanisms and the kinetic constants. In addition, this method is also applicable to the cases of substrate inhibition and simple two - substrate. enzyme reaction, and hence it may be useful in study on the kinetics of enzyme - catalyzed reaction. |
