Abstract: | The unconventional myosins form a large and diverse group of molecular motors. The number of known unconventional myosins is increasing rapidly and in the past year alone two new classes have been identified. Substantial progress has been made towards characterizing the properties and functions of these motor proteins, which have been hypothesized to play fundamental roles in processes such as cell locomotion, phagocytosis and vesicle transport. |
