Avian Influenza is a infectious disease which can threat animal husbandry and human health seriously. Today, it takes place in many nations and regions in the world. Avian Influenza virus has been isolated from a wide range of species, including humans, pigs, horses, whales, seals and ferrets. This adaptation might be achieved by mutation of an avian virus genome or by mixing segments of an avian virus with segments from a virus already adapted to humans, leading to the emergence of a new influenza subtype with pandemic potential. In order to better understand the fact that avian influenza is already becoming a zoonosis, the events of avian influenza infected humans directly and pandemic influenzas in history associated with avian influenza were reviewed in the paper, and its likely mechanisms were also discussed.
