| Abstract: | Summary An intercept in the linear relationship between the biomass increase and decrease in medium conductivity was found in suspension cultures of rice cells. It was due to the. consumption of medium salts by the cells during the lag phase. An equation was established for accurate monitoring of the cell growth which aids understanding of the cell physiology especially during the initial stage of cell growth. |
