Abstract: | A case of tuberculosis in a cat, probably caused by the vole-type tubercle bacterium (M. microti) and 3 cases of vole tuberculosis in pigs are described. Contrary to what had been found earlier in ferrets and a calf, the vole bacillus was to some extent pathogenic to pigs, causing gross lesions in several lymph nodes and in one case in the spleen. The possibility that the vole bacillus causes pseudo-specificity to bovine tuberculin in cattle is discussed. |
