Abstract: | A factor present in rat liver cytosol caused 40S and 60S subunits to reassociate, forming 80S ribosomes. Reassociation required this factor, an RNA template (poly U), and aminoacyl-tRNA (Phe-tRNA); it was enhanced by GTP. Factor-promoted reassociation was not inhibited by puromycin. |
