Abstract: | The presence in the left aortic nerve of rabbits of medullated and nonmedullated fibres with conduction velocities of 12--30 m/s and 0.9--1.2 m/s, respectively, was demonstrated. In experiments on the isolated aortic arch preparation the electrophysiological characteristics of the aortic baroceptors with the medullated and non-medullated fibres were studied by means of a selective block of conduction in these fibers. Baroceptors with the non-medullated fibers had a higher threshold pressure and a wider functional range. |
