摘    要:CAM植物按其对环境的反应可分为两种类型:即专一CAM植物和兼性CAM植物。前者不易受外界环境的变化而改变其CAM性质;后者的光合型可随季节和水分胁迫等而发生变化,也可因人工诱导作用而使其由C_3型转变为CAM型。

Abstract:The induction of CAM by artifical drought in Mesembryanthemum cordifolium,a plant of the family Aizoaceae, was studied under natural photoperiod and temper-ature. Constantly watered plants was of C_3-type. In summer, CAM in the matureleaves could appear within two days after ceasing of watering: net CO_2 uptake andlow stomatal resistance were observed during the night; CO_2 output occurred andstomata closed for most of the daytime; and the leaves exhibited a marked diurnafluctuation in acid content. In the leaves of water-stressed plants, the activityof PEP carboxylase increased by 8 and 14 times more than that of the control plantslone and two days after the cessation of watering, respectively.
