Abstract: | We present primer sequences for five polymorphic microsatellite loci in ants of the genus Crematogaster subgenus Decacrema that live in obligate symbiosis with host plants of the euphorb genus Macaranga. Microsatellite loci were isolated with a highly efficient method of enrichment. The number of alleles ranged from 10 to 18 for Crematogaster morphospecies 2, for which these markers were developed, with an observed heterozygosity ranging from 0.6578 to 0.9474. The markers were designed for the study of the population as well as of the social structure of colonies. |
