Abstract: | We report primer sequences for five novel polymorphic microsatellite loci that were developed for the African driver ant Dorylus (Anomma) molestus. The number of alleles in the studied population ranged from three to 10 with observed heterozygosities between 0.458 and 0.806. These microsatellite markers will be useful for the study of mating system evolution and the genetic structure of colonies and populations of army ants. |
