Abstract: | A new, flexible, fast, robust and economic technique was developed to treat sediment in shallow lakes with phosphate binding chemicals. The upper 0.15 m of the sediment is thoroughly mixed with ferric chloride using a water-jet manifold coupled to a dosing pump and a navigation control system. Its logistics were tried out in a small, shallow and hypertrophic peat lake, Lake Groot Vogelenzang. |
