Abstract: | Experiments were carried out in order to establish the effectof some growth regulators on the development of Sclerotium rolfsii.Triethanolamine was found to be physiologically active; coumarin, maleic hydrazide, and triethanolamine cause pronounced inhibitionof germination of sclerotia and reduction in the number of sclerotiaper culture. Coumarin in concentrations of 50100 p.p.m.increased the size of the developing sclerotia. -Naphthylaceticacid inhibited germination but had a promoting effect on thedevelopment of sclerotia. In concentrations of 50100p.p.m. it caused a more compact and dense development of themycelium and lowered the rate of growth. |
