Abstract: | X-ray examination using counter-flow gas contrast study was performed in 30 patients for differential diagnosis of cardiodiaphragmatic angular formations. Approximately 700 ml of gas was administered in to the mediastinum, 1500 ml into the abdominal cavity, followed by x-ray examination (roentgenoscopy, roentgenography and tomography) in 30 min. It made it possible to determine an accurate site of the formation and to make correct diagnosis in 28 cases. This method is highly informative and considerably reduces the diagnostic period, decreasing radiation exposure of a patient. |
