| Abstract: | Antisera raised against mouse sperm cells were demonstrated by complement-mediated cytotoxicity tests to react with the surface of cells from 2- and 3-day chick embryos. The reaction was greatest with cells from the head region. The number of reactive cells declined sharply after the 4th day of embryonic development. Since these anti-sperm antisera are known to react also with early mouse embryo cells, our results indicate the presence of surface antigens on early embryo cells which share immunogenic determinants with mouse sperm cells and possibly also with cells from early mouse embryos. |
