Abstract: | Glycosphingolipids are remarkable for their structural complexity and their distinctive patterns that mark different tissues and stages of development. The physiological functions of glycosphingolipids are likely to be profound and are only beginning to emerge. Much of this new information is due to the study of mutant mice lacking specific sets of glycosphingolipids, the topic of this review. |
