Pleiotropic behaviour of a cyanophage AS-1-resistant mutant of Anacystis nidulans

Summary A cyanophage AS-1-resistant mutant strain of Anacystis nidulans exhibited a slow rate of nutrient uptake compared to the wild type. The increased Cu⁺⁺ sensitivity of the mutant could be correlated with higher rates of Cu⁺⁺ uptake. The results are discussed in the light of alterations in the proteins involved in permeability of the outer membrane.
