Abstract:
A two-dimensional gel electrophoretic system for the separation of cellular proteins is described. The system utilizes sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS)-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis in the first dimension and polyacrylamide gel isoelectric focusing in the second dimension. The system offers a good starting point for many difficult protein separations requiring SDS.
