The synthesis of mono- and bifunctional nitriles and imidoesters carrying a fluorescent group. |

| Abstract: | The synthesis of nitriles and dinitriles carrying fluorescent dansyl groups is described. From these compounds the corresponding mono- and bifunctional imidoesters were prepared. They are suitable for labelling or crosslinking, respectively, of proteins under mild conditions. |
