| Abstract: | On the ultrastructural level, some of the free nuclei in the endosperm of Pha-seolus vulgaris contain intact mitochondria. The mitochondria in the nuclei are the same as those in the cytoplasm, with normal structure and containing obvious DNA filament. The results indicate thatthe nuclear mitochondria are appearently captured during the reconstitution of the nuclear envelope and could potentially facilitate the transfer of energy and material between the nucleus and mitochondrion. |
