Abstract: | Photochemical properties were determined for undegraded phytochromepurified from lyophilized rye seedlings (Secale cereale cv.Cougar). The preparation was shown to be a two-component systemduring phototransformations and dark transformation from red-light-inducedphotostationary state. The mole fraction of PFR at the 665-nm-light-inducedphotostationary state was 0.84. The ratio of the quantum yieldof photoconversion from PR to PFR to that from PFR to PR was1.53.
