| Abstract: | The capsular polysaccharide of Klebsiella K33 was subjected to Smith degradation, and an oligosaccharide-alditol, RL 0.8, was isolated. The purified oligosaccharide-alditol was characterized by sugar and methylation analyses, and by mass spectrometry as the permethylated derivative, and found to have the following structure. |
