| Abstract: | Remnant lipoprotein particles, produced by in vitro lipolysis of 125I-labeled very low density lipoproteins with lipoprotein lipase-rich plasma are avidly taken up but poorly catabolized by rat aortic smooth muscle cells growing in culture. These results may be relevant to the known association between high circulating remnant concentration and accelerated atherosclerosis. |
