Abstract:The tetracycline (Tc)-resistance transposon Tn10 has previously been shown to encode a small (~4 S) RNA species in Escherichia coli minicells. When Tn10-containing mini-cells were labeled in the presence of Tc a new RNA species was detected that hybridized specifically to DNA sequences from the outer 400 bp of each inverted repeat sequence (IS10).
