Abstract: | Pregnant rabbit mammary gland explants cultured with insulin, prolactin and cortisol synthesize and secrete transferrin radiolabelled with [3H]leucine or [3H]mannose. Addition of tunicamycin inhibits the glycosylation but not synthesis of the [3H]leucine-labelled polypeptide. Secretion of the non-glycosylated protein is only marginally inhibited. |
