Abstract: | Hare rejects the argumentation of Lady Warnock (Warnock, Mary, "Do human cells have rights?," Bioethics 1987 Jan; 1(1): 1-14) to the effect that the public policy debate concerning embryo experimentation should take into account people's moral sentiments. Using examples involving government policy on pornography and on homosexual acts between consenting adults, Hare contends that the fact that people think something is wrong does not make it wrong for the purposes of moral reasoning. |
