Abstract:
Porcine mononuclear cells from peripheral blood separated by Ficoll-Hypaque gradient technique bound secretory IgA preferentially but not serum IgA or IgG after capping with anti-Ig. When the cells were incubated with free secretory component and washed, serum IgA binding was facilitated. Thus, the results indicate that a subpopulation of porcine circulating mononuclear cells bear surface receptors for secretory component (SC-receptor).
