| Abstract: | Two flavan-3-ol glycosides together with seven flavan-3-ols were isolated from stems of the mangrove plant, Rhizophora stylosa. Their structures were established as glabraoside A (7) and glabraoside B (8) by spectroscopic and chemical methods. The antioxidative activity of these isolated compounds evaluated by the diphenylpicrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical scavenging reaction was higher than that of L-ascorbic acid. |
