| Abstract: | Protein synthesis before and after fertilization in Sabellaria alveolata has been investigated. Two major increases in protein synthesis were seen: one at fertilization and one after the third cleavage. These are independent of uptake rate modifications and are poorly affected by actinomycin D treatment. No strict correlation was found between cleavage and proteosynthesis inhibition by puromycin. |
