Abstract:
Summary A modified Erlenmeyer flask and a sedimentation chamber have been used for separation of cells from suspension. Preliminary investigations show an efficiency in the separation of more than 80% with yeast cells. Fermentations with the Erlenmeyer flask as separator show a 4–5 times increased cell density for both hybridomas and yeast cells.
