Abstract: | CdSe quantum dots (QDs) are potential fluorescent reagents, but leakage of Cd and Se often induces cytotoxicity. Here we prepared CdSe-based QDs with glass to reduce their leakage and examined their cytotoxicity using keratinocyte cells. The cytotoxicity of the QDs with glass was obviously lower than that of the commercial QDs with polymer, suggesting their safety for biological applications. |
