Abstract: | The possibility of chemical-enzymatic synthesis of branched polysaccharides was demonstrated with the enzymes from Salmonella newport and S. kentucky using synthetic polyprenyl pyrophosphate oligosaccharides. Formation of polymers with alpha 1-2-, beta 1-2-alpha 1-4- and beta 1-4-linkages between glucose residues in the branch and galactose residues of the main chain was shown. |
